best prevention approach for scarring

Since it is difficult to treat long standing, especially keloid-type scarring, the best approach is prevention.
  • Clean the area early, removing debris and other material contaminating the wound. If it a gaping wound, go to a medical professional for closure, so eventual scarring is minimized.
  • Apply an antibacterial ointment to promote the regrowth of skin cells, and use a semi-breathable dressing. More than a week’s delay in cell regrowth may cause a big scar to form.
  • To lighten dark scars, bleaching products containing hydroxyquinone or exfoliants containing alpha-hydroxyacid (AHA) or glycolic acid may be used. Test for hypersensitivity first by first using small quantities over non-exposed areas. Be prepared to use it over an extended period of three to six months. Before buying the product, make sure there is a seal of approval by the Bureau of Food and Drug (BFAD) and buy only from licensed and known drugstores.

Relaxation through Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils (concentrated fragrant plant extracts) to help you relax and relieve your various symptoms. Essential oils enter your body through inhalation and absorption. They can be used in various ways.
  • Inhalation, directly or through steam
  • Diffusers and vaporizers, using electrical gadgets, burners that use candles, or ceramic rings warmed by a light bulb
  • Massage, the most common and effective
  • Bath scented with chosen oils. Foot baths are helpful for chilblains, blisters caused by exposure to cold and humidity.
  • Compresses, which relieve bruising, skin conditions, and muscle and period pains
  • Only a few oils can be applied directly to the skin. Other oils can cause irritation
  • Never take aromatherapy oils internally. They are extremely potent and can be poisonous.

Unique Uses for Vicks VapoRub

It works 100% of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research Council (who discovered it) aren’t sure why. To stop night-time coughing in a child (or an adult, as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and then cover with socks.

Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about five minutes, and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. This works 100 percent of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition, it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of The Canada Research Council describe these findings by their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure. I just happened to tune in to a.m. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical make-up of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime and in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

a little signs that your in love

It is a very common question, "How can I tell I'm in love?", but it is not an easy question to answer. What feels like love to one person may be nothing more than attraction to another. Some people fall in and out of love quickly and often while others are never really in love as much as they are in lust. This can get confusing when you are a teen because romantic love is a relatively new concept for you and you don't know what to expect. You are overwhelmed with all sorts of new feelings and social pressures. They are confusing. Well, here are some sort of sign that your in love:
  • You’ll read his/her txt’s over and over again.
  • You’ll walk really really slow while you’re with him/her.
  • You’ll pretend 2 be shy whenever you’re with him/her.
  • While thinking bout him/her…your heart will beat faster and faster.

keeping hair shiny the natural way

Did you know that Coconut oil is the perfect solution to get your hair looking exactly like you see in shampoo commercials – minus the lighting and post-production tricks? Here’s how go to some naturist shop and buy yourself a container of coconut oil. Once you get home, put some water to boil, as the oil has a very hard consistency and you can’t apply it on your hair as such, and then drop the container in it once it reaches boiling point. When you remove it you will notice that the oil can now be easily applied on your hair.

You have now two options: either you go for the all-night treatment or for a “steam-towel-wrap” that shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes, half an hour tops, of your precious time. In both cases, the oil is applied evenly on the hair (use a comb if it helps, but make sure that you massage the roots in particular), before bedtime (for the former variant), or right after a bath (for the latter). Once the time expires (again, depending on which option you go for), rinse with warm water and shampoo and your hair should finally look as healthy as you always wanted it to be.

ways to avoid Pre-Diabetes

Here is another reason to stay fit and healthy. Actual diabetes is defined as fasting blood sugar of 126 or higher or a two-hour oral GTT of 200 (Fasting blood sugar of 100 to 125 or a reading of 140 to 199 on a two-hour oral glucose tolerance test or GTT)

If you think this is not a problem, think again. By the time people are diagnose with type 2 diabetes or experience symptoms like constant thirst or frequent urination, its often too late to cure the problem: insulin resistance, a condition in which the body has trouble using the insulin it produces to convert carbohydrates from food to energy. As a result, sugar accumulates in the blood. Prediabetes means you already have some degree of insulin resistance but it hasn’t driven your blood sugar high enough for an official diagnosis. However, people with prediabetes are five to 15 times more likely to develop the actual disease than those with normal blood sugar and are also at higher risk of suffering from heart diseases or stroke.

why you cool down after exercise

After a workout don’t forget to cool down! The most important part of keeping fit and healthy has to be the recovery phase. It gets the byproducts produced during exercise out of your muscles and into your bloodstream, to be transported to the kidneys, liver, or lungs for processing. It gives your blood pressure time to get back to normal, and keeps you sweating slightly so your body can return to a temperature suited to normal activities. Although full recover from exercise takes two days, the first three to five minutes after an exercise session are vital in getting these recovery processes started.
